Hall of Famers to Celebrate during Black History Month in New Brunswick

We continue to shine the spotlight on our Hall of Famers from underrepresented communities. Black History month is a great opportunity to learn about New Brunswick's rich Black History, which has gone untold for too long. The NB Sports Hall of Fame’s role is to celebrate and honour the achievements of those who have excelled and advanced sport in the province. We cannot ignore the struggles and challenges that our black athletes have endured while achieving greatness.

One example is the story of Louis Lawrence, a boxer who moved west to become the Canadian national boxing champion. You can read a short biography on Louis Lawrence below, and check out our Black History Month virtudal exhibit to learn about all our Black honoured members.
